Marcos has always been a defender of the values of peace having been involved since his adolescence in the conscientious objection movement. He avoided the compulsory military service in Spain for paternity after a legal dispute with the Ministry of Defense from which he emerged victorious. His utopian thinking is that the army will serve in the future only for humanitarian work dedicated to combating the consequences of climate change and other looming threats, rather than the domination of some peoples over others.
